Hurryup!

Stop,look!

Aksel in a lab coat and goggles, looking at a magnet in his hand

Aksel is always in a hurry. He runs to catch the train, to reach the master's door or to get to the balloon at dawn, and “Hurry up!” is never far from his lips. Ekin likes to stop and look, her magnifying glass always in her hand. Together they are the Hurriers. Every hurry ends at something worth stopping for: a butterfly, a rock with a hat, a little bird made of clay. On their first adventure the potter Emin Usta teaches them the biggest lesson of all: a cup rushed out into the hot sun cracks. And so the Hurriers learn when to run and when to wait.

Adventure 1 Cappadocia

Fairy chimneys with flat, dark caps at sunrise, and balloons in the sky

On their first adventure Aksel and Ekin walk among the fairy chimneys, spend a night in a rock house and take the train to Avanos. There Emin Usta shows them how to make a pot from the red clay of the Kızılırmak, and the next morning they rise into the sky in a balloon at dawn.

Adventure 2 Gaziantep

Aksel and Ekin in the coppersmiths' bazaar, with a basket of pistachios and a tray of baklava

The next adventure is in Gaziantep. In the coppersmiths' bazaar Aksel and Ekin will learn to work copper beside a master; in the orchards they will help with the pistachio harvest, and then they will see how those pistachios become baklava.

And then? New adventures

Off We Go! is a game series. In every adventure Aksel and Ekin go somewhere new, meet new masters and learn new things. More places will follow, and adventures about whole new subjects too.

The storycomes alive

In these two short films Aksel and Ekin run off on an adventure, and balloons rise over the fairy chimneys at dawn.

They learnas they play

In Off We Go! facts aren't taught like a lesson; they happen inside the game. Every chapter follows the same path: the child explores and wonders about something, Ekin's magnifying glass opens a short documentary that shows the answer, and then they try it out with their own hands in a game. What the hands have done, the mind remembers.

Maths

Maths here starts not with pencil and paper but with real things in the story. As the pigeons fly home at dusk, the child counts them one by one, and Ekin says each number aloud with them. Before the train leaves, they stack the suitcases with the biggest at the bottom and learn to compare sizes by playing. Counting, ordering and patterns come back again in different chapters, so what they learn stays.

Science

Children always ask why, so every fact in the game comes with a “because”. The child drags the rain cloud and sees for themselves how the water carves the soft rock, and how a hard capstone shelters the rock beneath it. They light the balloon's flame themselves: the air inside warms up, warm air rises, and the balloon lifts off. First they see it, then they try it with their own hands.

Why?How?

History and culture

We teach history through real places and real crafts, not by memorising dates and names. Ekin's magnifying glass becomes a window onto the past and a short documentary begins: the child watches how people carved homes out of the soft rock and how they lived in them, and joins in at every step with a tap or a drag. Then they try the same work with their own hands: they shape their own cup on Emin Usta's kick wheel and weave a kilim from wool coloured with plant dyes. Every fact a child hears has been checked against its sources first.

Art

In art there is no right or wrong: the child picks their own colours and patterns. They paint the cup they made with a brush, decorate it with stamps and send it into the kiln; it comes out fired and glossy and takes its place on the shelf beside their other work. They also colour Peep, the little clay bird the master makes, any way they like; with water inside, Peep sings, and the child listens and plays his songs back. Everything they make is kept on the device and turns up again in the story.

Say hello!

Every word in the game is spoken, so children who can't read yet can play on their own. In every adventure Aksel and Ekin meet new masters who know their craft well; on the first, they are Emin Usta the potter and Captain Bilge the balloon pilot. Tap someone and they'll talk to you.

Off We Go! is made by a dad for his son, Aksel. Everything he would want for his own child is in it, and nothing he wouldn't. The game is free: no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions. No personal data is collected: no sign-up, no cookies, no tracking; progress is kept only on your own device. Everything is spoken: every instruction and every fact is read aloud in Turkish or English, so no reading is needed. Nobody fails: a wrong tap brings a hint, never a buzzer. There is no clock to beat, every child goes at their own pace, and stars are just for the joy of it.

The facts are true: every adventure is researched in depth before it is made. Every fact a child hears is in our notes with its sources and checked against independent ones; popular myths stay out. The game plays in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, and iPhone, iPad and Android apps are on the way.

The privacy page explains it all, plainly.

The first adventure opens right in your browser: free, with no sign-up and no ads.
